MSH is an SKF Certified Partner
For more than 100 years, SKF (Svenska Kullagerfabriken) has been a world-leading supplier of bearings, seals, lubrication systems and services for rotating equipment.
SKF was founded in Gothenburg in 1907, the same year Sven Wingquist patented the self-aligning ball bearing. Today SKF supplies bearings, seals, lubrication systems and condition monitoring equipment to industry all over the world.
First in Norway
In November 2011, Mekanisk Service Halden became the first mechanical workshop in Norway to achieve SKF Certified Partner status. This gives us direct access to SKF’s technology, products and expertise, which we use to keep our customers’ plants running reliably.
Benefits of choosing an SKF Certified Partner
Through SKF’s distribution network, Mekanisk Service Halden offers:
Expertise from SKF
Knowledge and technology from one of the world’s largest bearing manufacturers.

We combine mechanical and electrical expertise with alignment, balancing and condition monitoring to give you complete solutions.
Choose Mekanisk Service Halden for reliable and innovative solutions.
Together with SKF, we make sure machinery and equipment perform optimally, whatever the challenge.
What we do as an SKF Certified Partner
- Bearing installation and replacement: from smaller bearings to 3.5 metre slewing bearings and main bearings in wind turbines.
- Balancing: in our workshop, and as field balancing on site with SKF Microlog. Read more about balancing.
- Alignment and condition monitoring: alignment of shafts and machines and inspection of rotating equipment, so that faults can be found before they cause downtime.
- Measurement and repair: bearing seats, shafts and covers can be measured on our coordinate measuring machine, and repaired and machined in our own workshop.
More about SKF
SKF has had its headquarters in Gothenburg ever since it was founded in 1907. The company was built on Sven Wingquist’s self-aligning ball bearing, and a few years later SKF engineer Arvid Palmgren developed the spherical roller bearing, a bearing type that is widely used in heavy industry today.
Today SKF is much more than a bearing manufacturer. The company supplies most of what rotating equipment needs to run reliably for a long time:
- Bearings and units: ball bearings, roller bearings and plain bearings, housings and complete bearing units.
- Seals: that keep lubricant in and dirt and moisture out.
- Lubrication: lubricants and automatic lubrication systems.
- Condition monitoring: instruments, sensors and analysis tools that show the condition of your machines, including SKF Microlog, which we use ourselves.
- Maintenance tools: such as induction heaters and hydraulic equipment for correct bearing mounting and dismounting.
- Services: analysis, advice and maintenance of rotating equipment, delivered by SKF and certified partners like us.
Why correct mounting and lubrication matter
A bearing can run for many years, but only if it is mounted, lubricated and monitored correctly. Common reasons for premature bearing failure are incorrect mounting, insufficient or wrong lubrication, and contamination from dirt and moisture.
As an SKF Certified Partner, we use SKF methods and tools to prevent exactly this. With condition monitoring we can also detect early damage before it causes downtime, so that replacement can be planned rather than come as a surprise.
